Moreno marks a historic milestone as Ohio’s first Hispanic elected to the U.S. Senate
Columbus, OH — The LIBRE Initiative Action proudly congratulates Senator-elect Bernie Moreno on his election to the U.S. Senate. Moreno has consistently demonstrated a commitment to supporting solutions that empower our community toward an American Dream rich in freedom, financial security, a good-paying job, and the ability to save for the future.
LIBRE Action is proud to have engaged Latinos across the state through grassroots events, digital ads, mail, phone banking, and door-knocking. We are incredibly proud of all our volunteers who worked tirelessly to support Senator-elect Moreno.
As an Immigrant from Colombia who has started a small business and built opportunities for himself and others, Senator-elect Moreno will be a champion for all Ohioans. His leadership will be pivotal in addressing crucial issues such as inflation, the cost of living, housing prices, the economy, and the lack of good jobs and opportunities.
Additionally, Moreno makes history as the first Hispanic elected by Ohio to the U.S. Senate – a point of pride for Latinos across Ohio.
Lair Marin-Marcum, Ohio Advisor for The LIBRE Initiative Action, released the following statement:
“Today, voters sent a resounding message: they’re ready for fresh leadership in Washington that rejects the cycle of big government spending and the harmful policies fueling an unaffordable economy. Bernie Moreno is committed to building a strong, pro-growth economy that empowers all Americans, promotes opportunity, and confronts the unique challenges facing our nation—from the high cost of living to the need for meaningful job creation. In Washington, he will work tirelessly to deliver the policies needed to restore the American Dream for every citizen.”
Background on The LIBRE Initiative Action
The LIBRE Initiative Action® is committed to supporting candidates who want to advance freedom-minded policies that promote the wellbeing and self-sufficiency of the Hispanic community and the nation. We believe candidates should stand for eliminating barriers to growth and innovation, trumpet educational achievement, protect the vulnerable, and encourage more participation of Latinos in our economy and communities. We believe that is the way to achieve the American Dream.
LIBRE Action was created to support those who champion these policies and to build the broad coalitions in Washington D.C. necessary to get them passed. Our vision is to build a movement of millions around policies that lead to a society of mutual benefit-where people succeed by helping others improve their lives and to break the internal and external barriers that prevent people from realizing their potential.
